Technology has really done wonders to our everyday lives. If, in the days of old, you need to go visit the local postal office to buy ordinary postage stamps, now you only need to stay in the comforts of your own home or office, log on to the Internet, visit an accredited stamp vendor website, design your own personalized postage stamps and voila! You now have creative custom postage stamps ready for printing and for use.

The personalized postage stamps industry has grown to be a fast expanding global phenomenon. The market is really limitless --- from individuals who wish to capture special moments and place them on stamps to companies which want to build better branding by putting their logo on stamps. People like the idea of putting their own preferred images on stamps. In fact, people like the idea so much that 2.4 million stamps were sold during the initial trial run of the program in the United States alone. Today, one of the licensed stamp vendor websites has reported that over 32 million stamps have already been purchased through their site.

So how do you design your own postage stamps? It's pretty easy, really. All you need to do is log on to a website of an accredited stamp reseller. In the United States, there are three companies duly recognized by the United States Postal Service (USPS). Search for these on the Internet. As soon as you have chosen which reseller to buy your stamps from, visit that company's website. Make sure that they have the logo from the USPS which says "approved licensed vendor". Only duly accredited vendors are allowed to use the logo and to produce PC postage.

After verifying that the site is legit, scan for the page in the website where you can create custom postage stamps. From your own computer files, choose the picture, logo or graphic that you want to print on your stamp. If you need to edit or adjust the color or size of the image, do so. Then, select the amount of postage fee and quantity of stamps. The stamp reseller will then review the picture or logo you submitted and make sure that no USPS rules and regulations are violated (pornographic and disturbing pictures are a no-no while religious symbols and images that the customer doesn't exactly have the copyright to will still need proper consideration) Once the reseller gives the seal of approval, your credit card will then be charged with the appropriate fees (the total cost will depend on the value of the postage and the number of sheets that you order), the photo postage stamps will be created and will be sent to you by mail. The stamps, which will be printed on self-adhesive label stock paper, usually arrive in no more than 5 days. Just follow the instructions posted on screen and very soon, you'll have stamps that feature your very own personal touch.
